Seiko’s journey through time began in 1881, when Kintaro Hattori opened a watch shop in Ginza. Fast forward to 1913, and the company achieved a remarkable milestone by crafting Japan’s first wristwatch, the Laurel. Since then, Seiko has continuously pushed the boundaries of watchmaking, blending technology and artistry.
As we celebrate Seiko’s 110th anniversary, the spotlight shines on the iconic Laurel. To honour this historic achievement, Seiko introduces a range of limited-edition timepieces across the Presage and Prospex collections. Each watch masterfully combines modern craftsmanship with the timeless essence of Japan’s first wristwatch.
Presage: A Nostalgic Tribute
The Presage collection pays homage to the Laurel with two remarkable creations. The first, a part of the Presage Craftsmanship Series, meticulously mirrors the Laurel’s design. A pristine white enamel dial, reminiscent of the original, showcases a red “12” and classic blue hands. Powered by Seiko’s high-performance Calibre 6R27, this watch is built to stand the test of time.
This model is limited to 1,500 pieces.

The second Presage gem is the Style60’s GMT, driven by Calibre 4R34. With its mid-century appearance, blue hands, and Lumibrite accents, it’s a nod to both history and modernity.
