Jewellery has entranced and enraptured for as long as can be remembered – yet nowhere has its incredible allure been felt more than in the Gregory family's Aramaic homeland of Midyat.

In the late 1950's, co-directors Christopher & Lahdo Gregory began to produce intricate silver filigree jewellery from their modest studio workrooms in the family home – this was quite common for many men in the quaint Aramaic village of Midyat.

The success of the brothers prompted their uncle Isaac to become involved, establishing Gregory Bros. in 1967.

It was not until the late 1960's that the Jewellers Association of Turkey recognised the significance of this growing manufacturer, issuing a hallmark of C95 to the brand – an insignia that years later, is still instantly associated with some of the finest quality jewellery pieces produced at the time – setting new standards of integrity, quality and value across the country.

Over the next decade, Gregory Bros. shifted their focus to the manufacture of fine diamond jewellery – with a steadfast focus on design – producing in precious metals, well before the commercial trend to do so caught on in local markets – earning admiration across the country.

By the late 1970's – the Gregory family had relocated to Sydney – setting up state of the art workrooms on King Street, where they produced precious diamond jewellery for some of Australia's most luxurious and respected jewellery brands.

Gregory Bros. wholesale business enjoyed rivalled success throughout the 70’s & 80’s – at the peak of this unrivalled success, Gregory Bros. boasted more than 1500 loyal clients across the country. This expansive portfolio of clients included some of the countries most respected names in designer jewellers.

The strength of the Gregory brand soon became apparent to the directorship, and the establishment of our own retail boutiques naturally followed. By 1989, our first boutique was established in Western Sydney – where we then introduced international brands like TAG Heuer, previously unheard of outside of Sydney's CBD. Gregory Jewellers Diamond Education was also a new concept for suburban jewellers, dramatically changing the way Greater-Sydney viewed and purchased diamonds.

Between 1990 & 2005, the GREGORY brand expanded to 14 boutique showrooms, and their international partnerships grew to include brands like Longines, Tissot, Rado, Gucci, Omega, Oris, Baume & Mercier, Breitling & Breitling for Bentley, Cartier, Dior, IWC and Jaeger le Coultre, a portfolio of brands that no other boutique can offer.

A generational change in the directorship of Gregory Jewellers will see the GREGORY brand move into new and exciting arenas.
